Jonathn Ashe

JA_Bio With a career spanning over three decades, we go back to the beginning, where it all started with his first band, “The Squires”.  Back in the day, Jon performed at dances, parties, and proms.  Yes, He did practice in the garage, but that was way before the phrase “Garage Band” was ever coined!

Not long after the Squires, Jon signed up to play bass with Billy King & The Coachmen, touring the U.S. and Canada. The road proved to be a great learning experience. During that time, Jon worked with and shared the bill with a plethora of entertainers such as: Tommy James & the Shondells, John Sebastian, Roger Mc Guinn, Ritchie Havens, Cool & the Gang, Jay & the Americans, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Drifters, Tony Orlando, and many more!

Once upon a recording session, Jon found himself in New York City at Allegro studios playing bass on a couple of demos written by Tommy James.  The songs were, entitled, “Mony, Mony”, and “Do Somethin’ To Me”.  Now maybe you know the rest of the story…”Mony,Mony” went on to become a 5 million seller, and to many, a Rock and Roll anthem!  Shortly there after Jon joined Tommy James and toured with him for two years.  Jonathn also co-wrote another hit with Tommy called, ”Calico”.

Since that time, Jon launched a very successful solo career, and formed the Jonathn Ashe Band.  Jon still collaborates with Tommy James, writing songs together and sitting in on special gigs with Tommy James and The Shondells.
